Timo stories was designed to be especially useful in clinical therapy sessions and in the classroom, but we also wanted to make sure that children could benefit from it at home. Children find it easy to use Timo as their guide with fun and lively animations that act as reinforcers to keep children motivated.
How do you know if Timo Stories is something that might help your child? Start by answering these questions:
Does your child:
- Use some basic sentence patterns to communicate? (Utterances may contain errors. Communication may be atypical or have a “learned quality.”)
- Have an emerging ability to answer simple questions?
- Label and comment when looking at pictures?
- Show a readiness to work on listening tasks that address categorization, associations, and exclusions?
“After working with Timo over the past year I think he is appealing to children with autism because he is calm and predictable, yet novel. His face and expressions seem less confusing to them. Happily, some of them seem to be developing a relationship with him and ask whether they can ‘read with Timo.’”
